Slappy Cakes

Slappy Cakes is the name of a pancake restaurant here in Portland. However, what makes it special is that you get to make your own pancakes, right there, at your table. You can choose from a list of batters, then you pick your toppings from two lists: sweet and savory. After a reasonable wait we got seated at a booth and we ordered our food: Buttermilk batter for us both, I picked blueberries and lemon curd. Mckenna picked chocolate chips and we both ordered an egg on the side.

We are having a great time! Yesterday we were really bad about taking pictures but we slept in a bit due to the late night before, got ready for the day and packed up lunch for a picnic at Jameson Square Park. It's a park in the Pearl district that has a water feature and is perfect for people watching. Then after hanging out for a bit we went to 23rd street/ nob hill, got some Boba tea and did some window shopping. After that we came home for dinner. We made a manicotti of sorts and green beans. Then settled in for a movie: Stranger than Fiction (funny one), and painted our nails. Then it was definitely time for bed.

After slappy cakes today we came back and crashed on some lawn chairs in the backyard with some magazines. We both fell asleep and took naps outside and woke up a bit ago for some lunch. We are planning on relaxing until dinner tonight which is.... Mcmenamins!! We are going to Mcmenamins: Kennedy School tonight for the showing of Shrek and some pizza. We are looking forward to it. More again soon....
