Toro Bravo and The Green Zone...

So many blogs, So little time! It's amazing how a step outside the normal swing of things can produce so many new blogs. It reminds me a lot of when we first moved here and all we had was time to explore, take pictures, and blog them. This spring break has been a taste of those good ol' days. First on the list of things to blog: Date night! woot woot!

For our date night on tuesday night we went to a restaurant called Toro Bravo, where its all about the Tapas. Since we hadn't been to a tapa place since our last visit to Tapa the World in Sacramento we thought this would be a great idea. We are in agreement that we need to give it a second shot. It is always disappointing to go out to dinner for a rare date night only to have a poor waitress who ruins your dining experience. The atmosphere: awesome. Food: not bad, we feel that we would have made better food choices if we were given more guidance by our waitress. For example, you would think that when one orders the Potatoes Bravoes for their first tapa, that you would inform them that the "tortilla" they are ordering as their second tapa is really the same potatoes in a different shape with the same sauce on top...? I'm not bitter or anything... and the atmosphere was good enough to convince us to give it a 2nd chance and ask more questions as to not order the same dishes over again. Anywho... it was still a fun time. The Green Zone was great and we certainly recommend it. Very representational film, documentary-ish and it makes you really think about the war and propaganda relationship. So here are some pictures from our date night. Unfortunately there aren't very many because I could tell I was possibly annoying the table next to us by taking pictures of each of our dishes of food. Next time we have made it our goal to finally thoroughly document a good date night. :) Oh, and I'll have you know that I have found a new favorite drink. It's called a Greyhound: vodka and grapefruit juice. I've always been a Cosmo kind of girl but I think I may have found one that I like even more! Always fun to try new things...

[we were a little disappointed that everything we ordered had a sauce on it. We are hoping that if we do go again we will find some things a little less heavy.]
